Compliments fall short except to the wicked

They sat next to each other
to face one another
with winter
brewing in their hearts,
but only for the truth-less hiss
and the noiseless banter
of the mindless and conformed.

Truth crawls deep
and like water it seeps
through the veins
of mother earth
and mankind itself.

Yet earth is still,
and as it grows
towards the sky
just one thing can
sculpt it peacefully.

Water soothes,
seeps into the wood
gives life to trees
and turns the barren
lands to green.
Without truth
the world withers,
it's walls close in
and it's waters hold still,
it sits motionless
decaying.

To the core of it all.

Even so,
truths seep through the earth,
and as they flow,
So they spoke,
and truth did befall
their lips.

Though water
may break through stone,
and the earth
itself try to hold water in,
sooner or later
one must give in,
usually water wins.
