Late one afternoon on a summer eves day

In the distance lays the metropolis. A buzzing and glowing giant, and although it's a sight of awe and wonder, it makes for disgusting fumes and a nauseatingly odorous run off capable of killing all it touches. Its coasts are littered with plastic refuge, most of the animals found living anywhere near it, if not sick are dying, so few actually able to survive. The oceans surrounding it are filled with poisoned fish; yet, you can still see small boats heading out to collect them every day.

Within this metropolis there lays a town in waiting, one which is no different than any other town inside this heaving monster. It has corrupt politicians, police who seem like they just don't give a crap about the real crimes that are affecting people, and an array of citizens angry with their place in the world yet unwilling to change anything for themselves. Unfortunately, not being angry enough to do something about their lives, and scared just enough to qualm any thoughts of insurrection. These Sheeple are as easy to herd as the next bunch.

The only thing that sets this town apart is its central park. It hosts an ancient Oak forest, all in the middle of its downtown area. It makes for quite a contrast in sight. High rises can be seen through the green blotches where blue once seemed to dance. This huge forest was held in high regard by all, even some of the thick headed humans knew there was something special there.

Sometimes you can hear the old wood creak and shift with the strong winds that seep through the buildings and streets, you always knew when a gust had passed through the forest, it was so fresh, so sweet to the senses. Its breeze would sweep past your ears, as if trying to communicate, calling out for anyone to listen or willing to hear its ancient secrets.

Within the forest on this particular day, there was a young man who was searching for his face. You see, he had lost it, and couldn't find it at the moment. He knew he'd left it here somewhere... Behind the stump? Nope. Maybe under that moss? Guess again. He remembers sitting right here, eating the mushrooms, and then all of a sudden it was gone. That was over 3 hours ago, yet he could not find it. Surely, his roommates would notice should a drastic change in his appearance occur.

"Hey man, you alright? You look a little off..." said Steve, his shirt was flowing with light, the air blew swiftly by.
"Yeah, I kind of lost something...” He kept looking around, checked his pockets, under his shoes. “I just can’t find it.” Allen said.

Steve just stared at him. Through his eyes Steve was exploding into light, his visions were as real as ever. He didn’t know what he could say to express how he felt at that moment as he sat under the shadow of the ancient oak wood. The wind told him not to worry, and as the tree nestled his body with its roots, he knew that all would be well. If only Steve could have known what Allen did then, he would have been much more tranquil.

Allen knew this lack of self wouldn't do. He needed to find his face, and he needed it quick. What would he do about work? Could he really just show up without his face? How would they recognize him from everyone else? Suit, tie, and shoes, there wasn't anything too different about him and the others, except his face, his id. How come he'd never thought of this before? At a time like this too.

Stumbling through the woods, he trips over a stump and lands faceless onto the ground. After slowly getting up, he realizes that there is something stuck... to his face! It's a bunch of pine needles and moist dirt. He must have landed on his face right where it had fallen! THE GLORY! Our faceless hero had now stumbled upon his own lost image. He could again feel his lips, the lubricating sensation of his eyelids over his eyes, and the wind as it rushed by.

Those could easily have been the worst 3 hours of his life. He'd never felt so helpless, he had never expected to be loosing what everyone else viewed to be him. At the same time though, he noticed a lot of things about his ways and those around him that downright scared him. He got a chance to break away, and see it all from above.

As he looked around, he could envision the shadows still messing with his head. The space between the trees seemed to go on forever. Light creeped by, it appeared as if time itself slowed down to a crawl. Time and space bent in an arch that seemed to explode in an upward curve. He looked up, and a Rainbow stretched far over head, hanging over the forest line slowly expanding into the city. He felt it was for him, for at this moment a great calm came to him. His heart beat like the thunderous roar of a steeds rhythmic hoofs in his chest, not fast though, but he could feel the pressure over the whole of his body rising just a little bit. Or was it the pressure around him, either way, he felt something.

Air rustling, seemed to go around him, there was something there. Moving about him, he could feel it. Fear didn't over come him at all, it was an excitement of sorts. His heart still pumping strong he saw the shadow that was cast by one of the oaks ancient limbs turn into a shape, one that went around and around him until it slowed down like elastic and stopped in front but a meter from where he stood. Her blue eyes pierced through his soul, she seemed to float as she got closer to him. Her mangled green rags gave off no smell, all you could sense was a fresh human scent, pheromones. She lifts her soft white hand, and touches his face. Her lips curl into a smile, he smiles back. LOVE it permeates everywhere, it’s in every creature, every place. He can feel the radiating warmth of her touch, the connection that every being, ethereal or not, had with not just each other but the whole of the world around them. They don't speak, it's not needed. Her lips inch closer towards his, their eyes close as they meet. Molecules between them become compacted, and electricity is exchanged. Suddenly, she explodes into a million fractals of light spreading through all directions around him, within him. He drops back into the soft earth.

As he lies there, staring at the heavens, he thinks of this image. The girl, the kiss, the magical and mystical energy he felt. Could it have been part of his trip? Or was it real all along. He doesn't know. He does feel an aching in his heart, hoping that she will return to again.

In these woods there is a young man, who has found out something about himself. Creaking and waving, the trees bid their farewell as he hikes his way out. They will miss him, he will miss them. It's always like this.

In the city, where politicians steal, and the police meant to protect the people turn a blind eye to social injustices, a young man makes his way through the street. There is something different about him, the light seems to be just radiating from him. Outwardly, onto all around him. He smiles at a crowd who seems a little down. After he passes, they seem to be telling jokes, laughing and having a good time.

This metropolis is the host to many things. Lies, hate, truths and love alike. Somewhere within it, there is a place for people to go back to their roots. A place where people can let go of their egos, and contend with the realities of the world around them. Truly face themselves, and allow for something greater to visit them. A love of pure essence, something forbidden for its purity and ability to awaken.

Don't turn a blind eye to truths that lie before you, destroy your ego in order to see that which really is. Awaken your third eye.
